“Gimme More tells a story of learning to navigate our tumultuous, multi-layered inner worlds and the total loss of control. The constant pursuit of pleasure becomes nothing more than a flickering flame which is never truly satisfied. There’s a chaos in the song which threatens to fall apart at any minute but instead penetrates right into the heart. It’s the first song we wrote together after many months forced apart. Taking such a long, unexpected break has seen us all grow as both a band and individuals which aided in the process of bringing this song into being.

In terms of the music video, we wanted to convey some of the chaos behind the lyrics. We had very little budget, so thought “what do you do when you don’t have any money for a music video…?” If you are Purple Thread, you go to the middle of the moors and see if you can make something happen. The only problem was it was the middle of January so we had to battle all the elements; wind, fog, snow, you name it. One night it was so cold Liz’s car broke down and we had to stop in the middle of filming to jump start it. We spent the entirety of our January evenings driving around the Pennines and setting up our instruments in car parks, getting some very strange looks from passing cars and sleeping lorry drivers who had pulled in to get some peace and quiet. “
