WE PREMIERE THE NEW VIDEO FROM THE HERRON BROTHERS – STICKY TOFFEE PUDDING

It’s RGM video premiere time, today we have the new video from The Herron Brothers and their new video Sticky Toffee Pudding.

Here are a few words about the video, enjoy!👊

“The song is a lovely upbeat combination of the topics of addiction, consumerism, greed, political ambivalence and mismanagement” says Steven with a smile, “and, as it progresses, it becomes more obvious that a lot of the words are focused squarely on a certain current administration in the UK”

“The song was originally Steven’s” says Paul, “I just finished it off for him, he’d been threatening this song for about three years. I’d heard the title a thousand times before I’d heard any music, but I think it was worth the wait”

Unashamedly influenced by “Harmony Hall” by Vampire Weekend, (with a smattering of “Piggies” by the Beatles….) the bear bones of sticky Toffee Pudding woke Steven up at 6 a.m. one morning in their original hometown of Wooler Northumberland, whilst on a visit to their Mum.

“I had to get the idea recorded straight away, which didn’t go down well with my girlfriend to be honest when I woke her up making strange riff noises into my phone” Steven laughs.

The video was recorded at the top of Whitsun bank in Wooler (which also features on the cover of this year’s album “Muckle” and previous single “Listen Babu”) and features the everyday occurrence of the Brothers dressed in tuxedos being served various desserts by a giant squirrel.

“It’s actually really hard to gouge yourself as we do in the video,” says Paul. “Your gut instinct is to NOT get food all over you, so we had to set our brains to do the opposite, and believe me custard and cheesecake and ice cream is cold on the skin up a hill in the autumn in Northumberland……
