Red Output have just released their fantastic new post-punk single Mud Wit Burz which will most definitely have you dancing like a maniac by the end of it!
This Canadian band know how to bring the vibes to their songs. This new track is just exhilarating, pumped full of chaotic energy. If this song doesn’t have you jumping around then I don’t know what will. Red Output have been making music since 2020 and have gained just over 500 monthly listeners on Spotify. They have stated Mud Wit Burz is ‘a testament to the intangible magic that happens when people come together’, which in itself is a very thoughtful thing to write about as it has a deep meaning.
When I first listened to the track, I was taken back by the opening as I was unsure what type of music it was going to be. I wasn’t sure what to make of it as the opening has a deep male voice talking then a woman screaming, which then falls into the song and may I say the rest of the track certainly makes up for this unusual introduction to a song. It is heavily upbeat after and kind of makes me want to get up and skank around. The use of different instruments ties it together perfectly. There’s hard-hitting drums, a saxophone, electric guitar, bass, and impressive vocals which are super fast throughout the song.
The song is just 2 minutes 40 seconds but is jam packed and very enjoyable. I would recommend this song to anyone who likes post-punk or simply music that is weird and wonderful. This most definitely ticks the weird and wonderful box, but I do love the enthusiasm the band bring to this song. It’s like listening to the mind of an ADHD person in the form of music!
