WNSDY AT 7 - HONEYMOON

WE REVIEW NEW SINGLE ‘HONEYMOON’ BY WNSDY AT 7

South Yorkshire’s WNSDY AT 7 arrive with their first single ‘Honeymoon’, a pop-rock bop with its heart firmly in the noughties. Think chunky punk style guitars, singalong pop melodies, and just enough pop punk edge to make you feel like you’re 15 again, loitering outside a skate park.

From the get-go, it’s catchy. No messing. The hook’s there, the energy’s up, and the chorus has that proper smile-inducing lift. The bridge, in particular, is a sweet throwback moment with a classic build, bit of suspense, and you really appreciate it when the chorus kicks back in

Production-wise, it’s solid. Everything’s sitting nicely in the mix, especially those vocals crisp and clear without sounding over-polished.

That said, a little more versatility wouldn’t hurt. It’s a solid tune, no doubt, but the pop-punk space is packed. A few unexpected moments, maybe a weirder chord or a surprise twist, would’ve helped it really stand out. At times, it leans a little ‘same-same’ but hey, it knows what it’s doing and it’s a first release. Being right on the money can work in your favour especially at the start!

With McFly and Busted both doing the rounds again, ‘Honeymoon’ couldn’t have landed at a better time. It taps into that era of UK pop-rock and delivers a nice dose of nostalgia right when the people are gonna crave something new.

All in all? A clean, confident, and super enjoyable track. WNSDY AT 7 knows their sound and they’re not afraid to lean into it!
