The Way I Feel is the newest track from Col Gerrard and it is a soft, slow song that captures Col’s talent perfectly. The singer-songwriter has been in the music industry for multiple years and has progressed phenomenally.
The London based artist has released just four songs so far but has gained a lot of attention from major music publications such as The Rolling Stone and Fault. His success has been exceptional. Col produces his own music and it is extremely good. It is definitely for fans of anything that is slow paced, and calm.
The Way I Feel feels like a slow paced 80s song. It definitely reminds me of Duran Duran’s Save A Prayer or Gold by Spandau Ballet. It radiates that kind of vibe, something I would maybe listen to if I was just busy doing something and it came on during a playlist, but it isn’t the type of song I would play willingly. Saying that, Col is great at what he does and his skills are immensely great.
The guitar and piano that are within the song fit perfectly and compliment The Way I Feel greatly. The vocals have the essence of Liam Gallagher if Liam was part of Beady Eye again, this is something that caught my eye – no pun intended – immediately.
Feedback – The song is, as said previously, quite slow paced. Maybe adding a guitar solo to the song could have made it more pleasing and added more talent to it. I would love to hear something a little bit more up beat when it comes to Col’s music as he has the talent to produce so much more! Hopefully this is a side we can see from Col later on in his career but so far, Col’s music is brilliant the way it is.
