NEED YOUR LOVE - THE MUCKS

WE REVIEW THE MUCKS NEW SINGLE NEED YOUR LOVE

Coventry’s newest indie rock band The Mucks drop new single Need Your Love. A soulful, emotive portrayal of young love on the edge. It’s soaked in atmosphere and heart, and from the first vocal line, you feel a part of something special.

There’s an immediate pull when the lead vocal hits. Glowing with the emotional depth of early Goo Goo Dolls, yet modernised by shades of Sam Fender’s gritty sincerity. The melodic interplay between vocals and guitar feels natural, lending the track a confidence that’s hard to fake. It’s a cohesion that oozes credibility.

The drums in particular are a standout. They guide the track’s energy with real intent, kicking in just when you need a shake. As a whole, the instrumentation feels thoughtfully layered, each part playing its role without ever overcrowding the space. It’s a delicious, well-produced sound.

While the track progresses, you feel a tension building for a twist or shift that never quite lands. That moment of unpredictability is something people truly remember, it’s what could take a great song and make it unforgettable. But that’s not a flaw, the song just has bags of potential.

Without doubt Need Your Love is a polished, passionate, and one of the most promising new releases I’ve heard this year. The Mucks are definitely ones to watch and I’ll be following closely to see what comes next.
