Emker Cel’s latest album, “You Are Everything You Are,” is a musical journey that emerges as a triumph of creative passion. The brainchild of Matt, a resilient singer from Barrow-in-Furness, UK, this marks his third venture under the Emker Cel alias.
The journey to this release was far from smooth. Matt’s life took unexpected turns, including a hiatus for the birth of his child, a battle with long Covid, and the dissolution of his marriage. Yet, amidst these challenges, Matt poured his heart and soul into the creation of this album, resulting in a collection of songs that resonate with raw emotion and authenticity.
Breathing Out: The opening track sets the tone with a raw and introspective exploration of life’s challenges. Matt’s vocals, accompanied by powerful instrumentals, create an immersive experience, inviting listeners into a interesting accoustic upbeat tune.
Wrong Side Of Town: Stiking drums and bass kick off this tune showcasing Emker Cel’s ability to weave a compelling narrative through sound.
This Is How We Breathe: A slight prefrab sproat influence? The interplay between the lyrics and the music creates a solid venture into a commercial sound.
Face The Music: An anthemic piece that confronts challenges head-on, “Face The Music” is a powerful show of a rockier sound.
Not My Enemy: Is uplifting, my persoanl fave from the album, one to put on while getting ready to go out.
Battle: There come a time in any album where we take chance to reflect and this song does that The song’s dynamic weave through an interesting side step into a different sound.
Death Of Dreams (Album Mix):The composition lays bare the emotional upheavals in Matt’s life, “Death Of Dreams” is a hauntingly new track setting the scence for whats to come later in the album.
Data Loss: Nicely moves the album forward and showcases Matts ability to write a bloody good tune.
Goodnight Everyone: Closing in a reflective mood, “Goodnight Everyone” is a melodic farewell. The song’s lyrics and soothing instrumentation provide a cathartic conclusion, leaving the listener with a sense of resolution.
Medley (You Are Everything You Are / Understood / Uninvited Guests): The medley serves as a reminder of all Matts trials and trivulations of life, all mixed up in his lyrics, it feels like closure on a lot of personal issues and rounds of a cracking album
In the face of personal tribulations, Matt’s dedication to delivering “You Are Everything You Are” is evident in each carefully crafted track. Nice one.
