WE REVIEW THE NEW ALBUM FROM JEFF ‘THE FISH’ LEFROY – REAL MUSIC BY REAL PEOPLE

Jeff ‘The Fish’ Lefroy is back with his brand new album Real Music by Real People which includes a mixtures of genres but most definitely has Jeff’s iconic vocals on. The 10 songs on the album are all fun and quirky. Let me tell you why this album is unique.

The first song Don’t Blame the Politician is a warning about how all political parties aren’t reliable and you shouldn’t fall for their lies. This song is dancy and includes a harmonica as well as a jazz/country instrumental. This is most definitely a great song to listen to if you are only just finding out about Jeff.

The second track Emigrant Song (I’m Long Gone) is all about Jeff’s personal life experiences and how he has never felt like he fit into the countries he moved to. A lot of people could relate to this track as the lyrics are very heartfelt and tell a story. This track is marvellous and I love how Jeff has turned possibly some of the more traumatic parts of his life into a song and shared them with the world.

The third and fourth track, Feeling Real Good and A Little Less Grey, both include great instruments and vocals. The third track is a bit more slower and less upbeat than the others, but wouldn’t stop you from swaying your body or enjoying the rest of the album. I think if it had a bit more umph to the song it would bring a different type of vibe. The fourth is quite the same, more slower and has a softer beat to it. This is great as the album is diverse, full of different types of emotions.

The tracks following; Sunset, It’s All About You (Valerie), and The Search For Paradise all have something individual to offer. Sunset includes more vocalists rather than just Jeff and his backing vocalist. Whereas It’s All About You (Valerie) includes Jeff and his backing vocalist a bit like the other tracks I have previously mentioned. This whole album so far is chill and has some great lyrics included in the songs. I truly think Jeff deserves a lot of praise for his hard work!

The eight and nineth tracks are quite similar to the rest of the album but that doesn’t take away the fun you get from listening to these enjoyable songs. What did surprise me was how the very last song, Feeling Real Good, was more like something Jamiroquai would release. It was extremely different from the country type music that Jeff had in this album. It included more of a house music type of beat. What a great twist and quite the shocker for the last song of the album.

The album as a whole is great and includes life stories as well as good vibes. This is certainly the album you need to be listening to if you want to dive deep into the world of Jeff ‘The Fish’ Lefroy. You don’t know what you’re missing out on if you don’t check this album out!
