WE REVIEW THE NEW EP FROM BURNISCOUS – A NEW TERRITORY KIND OF HEART

Singer-songwriter Burniscous just returned with an eclectic EP beautifully titled ‘A New Territory Kind of Heart’. The artist uses music as a means of hope and empowerment for listeners worldwide. Through introspective lyricism and soul-stirring melodies, Burniscous invites audiences to embark on a journey of self-discovery and transformation and this new EP is no exception.

The EP kicks off with an intriguing accapella introduction. It’s like Burniscous is talking directly to us and preparing us for what’s to come. It creates a sense of intimacy right from the start between the artist and us, listeners.

Then, the EP continues with “A New Territory Kind Of Heart”, a folk track that gives its name to the EP. Against a backdrop of delicate acoustic instrumentation, the song features Bailey Jehl’s soulful vocals. Loyal to Burniscous’ roots, the song explores themes of self-discovery and resilience, inviting listeners to embrace the unknown with open hearts.

Last but not least, “My Horse is on 100 Today” closes this musical journey. Featuring Deza and infused with infectious energy and catchy hooks, this track offers a refreshing change of pace. Indeed, it’s a complete turn from the two other tracks and makes the EP end on a high note.

The writing skills of Burniscous and the vocal prowess of Deza make it a standout track. Pioneering “poetic pop”, Deza is an artist, songwriter, and producer injecting a precise mix of stacked vocals, smooth synths, and self-aware lyricism into the genre.

Overall, each track offers a unique perspective on the human experience, from the introspective opener to the uplifting finale.
