We review the new single ‘333’ by Hol’ Hollie Findlay
Storming in with an angelic acoustic line that would fit perfectly in the nineties era, ‘333‘ reminisces fragrances of The La’s mixed with today’s modern artists such as Beabadoobee and Clairo. Golden and showcases Hol’s gorgeous clarity, the vocal sounds innocent yet sings very mature lyrics. ‘333’ is the angel number aka a sequence of numbers that have a specific divine message behind them.
This number symbolises love, life and protection – exactly how this song makes you feel.
One thing to note is that the song is based around a simple arrangement – well, that is until the just gone 2-minute mark. 2 minutes and beyond, the track feels more transcending and like something you’d hear as you enter heaven.
Navigating through turbulence in places and growing pains of growing up, this feels like a youthful number that details growing up is one of the hardest things to go through.
Musically, the track is prominently dream-pop with segments of indie thrown in for extra layers. Growing up, it’s a time to make mistakes and find yourself – it sounds like Hol’s done just that.
