Powered by influences from the ’80s, “88 Train” is primarily pop based and fits perfectly in the current alt-pop charts. Constantly building into a stunning piece of music, The Lunar Keys have really found their feet in this hectic industry.
About a quarter of the way through, the track finds a place of strength, especially with the drum beat. The only thing that makes me rethink slightly about the song is the melody. It feels like it’s quite comfortable. It doesn’t explore the unknown as much as hoped.
Saying that, I love how energy the release is and how it takes listeners through a transformative journey. The single is all about the desire for connection, and the search for meaning.
Quite a deep concept, the track is highly impactful. There’s no way you’ll be getting this song out of your head anytime soon.
