WE REVIEW THE NEW SINGLE ‘BED OF ROSES’ BY JANE N’ THE JUNGLE
Firstly, no, this isn’t a cover of a Bon Jovi classic. This is Jane N’ The Jungle’s latest anthem and it already feels like a classic. “Bed Of Roses” is an alternative rock with elements of glam rock thrown in for extra spice. Somewhere between ’90s rock and grunge, this song still feels present.
The track is a mix of tongue-in-cheek lyrics that fuses gritty guitar lines. It conveys a hard-hitting story of comfort and ease, something we all love, right? An atmospheric sound that is filled with urgency to require your attention due to Jane’s vocals, which are best described as powerful.
To the point and not the sort of track that takes ages to tell you a story, this is quick and witty, with elements of remembrance. Recorded in Phoenix, Arizona alongside a great team, the production is in-your-face and iconic. You could easily hear this on Kerrang or another rock station.
The lyrics roll off the tongue and can easily be remembered, making it a successful chorus to me! The single is theatrical and something that you could easily hear in the scene of a spellbinding Vampire Diaries episode.
The only thing I could say is that I felt the vocal melody was a bit safe in places and didn’t build as much as hoped. Nevertheless, that’s taking nothing away from Jane’s vocals. They are out of this world and easily one of the most gorgeous tones I’ve heard in ages.
In addition to the exceptional musicianship on board, this is a real gem.
Powerhouse vocals, elevating drum beats, and engaging guitar lines. What’s not to like?
