Dirty Blonde - Indie Sleaze

WE REVIEW THE NEW SINGLE BY DIRTY BLONDE – INDIE SLEAZE

Manchester’s Dirty Blonde are making huge waves. Having recently sold out a headline, hometown show at the Deaf Institute. On top of this they have previously shared stages with some huge names, including, to name a few, the likes of Frank Carter and the Sex Pistols, Blossoms and Sam Fender. As well as this Louis Tomlinson personally invited Dirty Blonde to play at Away From Home Festival in New York.

This is a festival Louis curated himself. Having experienced the golden age of indie, and taking huge influence from this, the band were determined to create a song that captures those nostalgic times.

Indie Sleaze opens up making you want to dance. It’s fun with a funky drumbeat that will keep you moving. It really does achieve the objective of recreating those golden indie days whilst keeping things fresh. The vocals are a lovely mix of cool, calm and collected, with a hint of hype.

Near the end the song slows down and the vocals become almost more like a spoken word than a song. Personally this short section isn’t for me. Whilst it transitions well, I really enjoyed the previous vocals and wanted more of them.

Overall this track is a great going out soundtrack. It’s upbeat, gets you in the mood for dancing and is a taste of those younger days we are so desperate to relive.
