JACE CAMPBELL - LIPSTICK

WE REVIEW THE NEW SINGLE BY JACE CAMPBELL -LIPSTICK

Salford native Jace Campbell releases new song Lipstick. Clearly modelled of classics like Oasis & The Stone Roses, the track is full of local swagger and heart.

If Catfish and the Bottlemen had shown up in the 90s, they’d probably sound a bit like Jace Campbell’s new sound. Indeed, It’s raw, unfiltered, and wears it proudly on its sleeve. As a result you get a pure authentic delivery of indie rock. A pure reflection of growing up around Manchester.

The track doesn’t hit you all at once, instead, it grows on you. As it builds, the vocals get stronger, more confident, and there’s a real anthemic aura you can feel pulling you in. Once the drums and guitars start bouncing off each other the energy becomes contagious. While there are a few edges that could be tightened, It’s messiness has a charm, not overproduced and not trying too hard.

The chorus is the clear standout here. It’s got a familiar spark, one you’ll swear you have heard before but can’t quite place it. That’s what sticks with you. It balances nostalgia and grit and the backing vocals bring everything together. There’s real build in Jace’s songwriting in particularly, taking listeners on a genuine journey.

Notably, Lipstick is more than just a track, it’s a sign of intent of where Jace is going musically. Just as indie anthems are making their way back, Jace Campbell is showing the world he’s got exactly that in his locker. Go and listen to Lipstick now on all platforms.
