There’s no waste around here because Jane N’ The Jungle have picked up all the pieces to fit into their jigsaw puzzle of incredible songwriting. The lyrics are phenomenal, but it’s the production of the whole song that left me heading straight to Spotify to add this to my playlist.
The song itself is about being stuck in toxic relationships where you feel there is no way out. You’re in a rut and want to just smash all the walls and windows around you. You can hear the message throughout the track simply by the instrumentation. It’s filled with nitty-gritty passion and tension from the get-go. It explodes onto the scene and refuses to be left in anyones shadow. To mean it feels like the song is about trusting your instincts and gut, and a reminder that life is too short to be sat in a relationship you’re not happy with.
The chorus feels slightly safe in the way that the lyrics aren’t complex, but I love how simple it is to remember. Picture this… you’re at one of their shows belting out every single lyric because you know it off by heart after 3 times listening to it on repeat.
The note-perfect vocals on ‘act like you mean it’ is truly spinetingling, Jane’s vocals are up there with vocalists such as Lzzy Hale, I said what I said. Modern rock fans better know there are new masters and their name is Jane N’ The Jungle.
Commanding yet ethereal are two words to describe the Phoenix-based band.
