WE REVIEW THE NEW SINGLE BY THE PAGANS S.O.H – EMERGENCE OF FORGOTTEN POWER
The Pagans S.O.H are a fantastic band coming out of West Bromwich. Bringing together strong riffs, funky rhythm guitars, slapping bass and next-level drum playing, this band is onto something huge. And that’s all without even mentioning the vocals which are unbelievable.
Emergence Of Forgotten Power brings all of the above to life in an insane mixture. Portraying a similar vibe to acts like No Hot Ashes, with the funk filled rap tracks. The energy emitted by the vocalist is impossible to avoid, it’s infectious. It’s similar to when you can hear a smile on someone’s face without seeing it, but you can feel the excitement and power inside the voice.
Having the guitar utilised as not only a harmonic element but a rhythmic device is severely under done in modern tracks. It is usually left back for reggae or ska tracks, but bringing it to bands like this, is one of the many things they have got on point.
The bass brings forward a solid dance rhythm, alongside the guitar and its funky licks and pieces. Then to bring in hot fuzzy guitars into the chorus, it fits so perfectly to add more to the dynamic and shove the track into a new place.
Overall, this band is up to be one of my new favourites. I think too few bands have a pure energy, funky riffs and insane bass that these guys offer up. This track is nothing short of phenomenal and I am extremely excited to see what they can do live.
