We review the new single ‘Crossfire’ by SUZ

Based in Barcelona, SUZ is a singer-songwriter and producer that combines powerful vocals with catchy tunes. Back with brooding new single ‘Crossfire‘, the second single from SUZ successfully blends her soulful vocal with dark-pop elements. Sometimes vocalists come along that instantly capture the spotlight, SUZ’s vocals reminisce Celeste, Paloma Faith and Amy Winehouse but if they went down a darker-pop avenue.

Melodic and easy on the ears, ‘Crossfire’ has a simple yet effective arrangement and doesn’t come across as entirely adventurous. Staying safe in places, it feels like the track could have had an added section where it just completely goes off course to then go back.

Certainly standing out from the crowd, ‘Crossfire‘ feels like it could have been enhanced further with added instrumentation. The track is screaming for a bigger production that could fill a stadium, and it could just because SUZ is armed with an incredible vocal.

Nevertheless, the overall execution and performance is stunning and it’s SUZ’s vocals that definitely steal the show and hold your attention.

Excited to hear more from this songwriter and producer – SUZ definitely has potential with her songwriting and production skills.
