“The World Is Mine” kicks off with a guitar intro I didn’t expect in a track like this and honestly, it had me paying attention before a single word was sai.. There’s something about that quick shimmer of strings that sets a mood even before the beat drops. It feels like the calm before the storm, or in that case, the first verse.
Lyrically, the song is all about ambition, the grind and growing up in an environment where you don’t get handed anything. Lines like “Everybody wants to be a boss not a soldier” and “Making money is the bottom line / Already told you The World Is Mine” get straight to the point: this is about claiming space in a world that wasn’t built for you. There’s also that nod to growing up on the same block and forming loyalty through survival, not convenience. The line “I’ll call you twin like we Gemini” adds a real human element under all the bravado.
The collaboration with White Gold works surprisingly well. His catchy hook and melodic tone bring a brightness to the track, which makes 9 A.M the Underdog’s verse hit even harder. And honestly, I preferred 9 A.M’s part where he doesn’t rely on a sea of explicit words to make his point, so the message comes across cleaner and with more impact. It’s refreshing to hear someone keep the heart of hip hop storytelling without drowning it in filler.
Overall, what I really appreciate is how the song fits into what 9 A.M the Underdog stands for. He has always talked about making music for the kids who feel left out or overlooked and you can hear that mission here. We can easily find the kind of confidence that comes from climbing your way out, not pretending the climb never happened.
White Gold brings his usual melodic finesse, the same songwriting instinct that has made him a go-to collaborator for Eminem in recent years. But here instead of lending a hook and disappearing, he’s part of the whole architecture of the track.
