Born from long-distance collaborations and decades of friendship, Atlas Rivers’ new single “Here Comes Morning” is a big, emotional swing and they land it. The band is made up of Steve Jackson (vocals, guitar), Glen Kissack (bass, vocals), and Gavin Smith (drums).
With its punchy riffs, driving rhythm section, and strong vocals, their new track gives off serious Manic Street Preachers or Ash vibes. There’s a punky edge to it, but also something softer and more nostalgic underneath. You can feel the urgency in the vocals, especially when that huge chorus hits. It’s built to be shouted back in a packed venue.

The lyrics hit on something super relatable: those intense, fleeting moments that feel like they could last forever, but never do. The lines “I don’t want this to end / But here comes morning with that kiss / It seems like everything beautiful as this / Burns out quick” really stuck with me. It’s that mix of joy and loss that makes the track hit emotionally.
Production-wise, it’s tight. Everything sounds clean and well-layered, and you can hear the mix of influences the band talks about; from indie rock to folk to electronic stuff. But even though it all sounds great, the track does start to feel a bit repetitive by the end. It doesn’t really throw any surprises your way, and while it’s solid, it doesn’t totally stand out in a crowded indie-rock space.
Still, “Here Comes Morning” shows that Atlas Rivers have found their sound and aren’t afraid to go big with it. It’s got energy, heart, and shows the band’s clear love for what they’re doing.
