WE REVIEW THE NEW SINGLE FROM AVA VALIANTI – JANUARY

Following the release of her beautiful track “Middle Ground” in February, Ava Valianti keeps on teasing her upcoming debut EP with “January”. This new release is a total vibe, blending different genres simultaneously, keeping us captivated from start to finish.

“January” begins with an intriguing introduction with Ava’s voice in the background like she’s on a phone call or somebody is secretly recording her. We can’t decipher everything she says and that adds to the mystery about what’s to come.

Then, the song fully settles into an acoustic backdrop. Ava’s voice really stands out here, full of emotion and authenticity. The chorus brings a true surprise, the way the instrumentation almost stops at the end of it, like the song is about to end, is a great touch. Just when you think you’ve got the song figured out, it turns into an upbeat pop track in the middle. Ultimately, towards the end, the song takes on some Americana vibes. Ava Valianto sure knows how to mix things up and keep us listening.

Ava Valianti sure knows how to mix things up and keep us listening. Lyrically, “January” is about the pain of seeing an ex with someone else. Ava nails the emotional rollercoaster of that experience.

The artwork for “January” is also a nice touch, showing Ava in a record store and adding to the nostalgic feel of the song.

After her two first singles “Bubble Wrap” and “Middle Ground”, the talented young artist has got what it takes to go even further and we can only anticipate the release of her debut EP later this Summer.
