Avishek Choudhury from Blackpool releases his new single ‘Always A Fighter’ on March 20th. Avishek started his musical career as a singer songwriter in 2012 whilst at college. When he eventually moved to Barnsley to attend university in 2013 the opportunities started flowing. From performing at locations such as the O2 academy in Sheffield, and Sheffield city hall, to radio play on BBC introducing. Avishek isn’t short of achievements, and this latest single looks set to continue this success.
Always A Fighter has a lovely upbeat instrumental. It’s bouncy, and full of energy. A complete contrast to the majority of the lyrics which focus on pain and that feeling of being left behind. The lyrics are full of emotion, and relatable for many. Especially in these times of social media dependence where people are constantly comparing themselves and their achievements to those they see by others online. The vocals are really nice to listen to, every word sung is clear and it feels like you’re getting a personal performance. At points these vocals are layered which I really like as it adds a whole new level to the song.
Overall this track is motivational and inspiring. Digging into your negative thoughts and turning them into a call to action toward a better mindset. It’s upbeat instrumental is great, however I personally feel that to really emphasise the message behind the lyrics, the song could have started off a bit slower. Building up slowly into the positivity filled, dance inducing sound. Despite this though the track has the makings of becoming a feel good anthem.
