The Utah band have given this song a purpose. It could be triggering to some as the composition speaks about suicide and expose people to real life events with no sugar coated lyrics. This song is a real eyeopener. I am glad the band speak so openly about mental health and advocate for it. Not only do the melodic vocals make this song emotional, the instrumental containing powerful guitar tones, soothing piano, and expressive drums have been mastered together so nicely, it drives a touching edge to the song.
Feedback- I would make to this composition would be to change certain aspects so that it suit the vocals more. The first verse of the song just didn’t seem to go together as pleasantly as the second verse. This is something that could be worked on in order to give the song more of a deeper meaning. I find some of the vocals aren’t as emotionally driven as others. It is quite monotone in places and seems a little rushed. Overall, the song has a great dark meaning behind it, and if you’re a lover of dark, rock, emotionally driven songs then this is perfect for you!
