WE REVIEW THE NEW SINGLE FROM BOX OF TRASH – NIGHTMARE

Scottish rock band Box of Trash have just released their belting new track Nightmare. It’s hard-hitting, powerful, and definitely a song you shouldn’t miss out on listening to.

Box of Trash are a 4-piece band who aren’t shy from including insane riffs, vigorous drums, badass bass lines, and vocals that would catch your attention from a mile away. They have had over 9,000 streams on Spotify on one song alone, which is incredible for a band with just over 600 followers on the platform.

Nightmare opens with this punchy drum beat by Jordan McKee which sets the pace for the rest of the song. The song doesn’t hesitate to bring in the guitar (Barry Fisher) and bass guitar (Jason Jess ) which both are excellent riffs for the song, it pieces it together. Lyle Kennedy comes straight in with his vocals which are high-powered and matchless. The song sounds so right for this band who have brought all kinds of alternative genres together such as rock, indie, and psychedelic rock together.

There’s a part of the song towards the end where it is just a drum beat and guitar, which I can see people clapping along to when these lads perform it live. It involves the crowd and you can just tell without actually being at a show that these lads know what they’re doing to interact with the crowd even just through their songs.

The lyrics talk about sharing emotions, wanting to be on the same page as the other person, and taking accountability for things you have done wrong in certain relationships. A lot of people would possibly find comfort within this track.

Overall, the song is catchy. If by the end of this track you aren’t singing ‘I never knew that I was a nightmare’ in your head, you haven’t listened to it enough!
