CANDID - Too Much or Not Enough?

WE REVIEW THE NEW SINGLE FROM CANDID

Coventry four piece CANDID return with a real treat for our ears in the form of their latest single ‘Too Much or Not Enough?’.

The indie outfit – who have already grown a significant fanbase up and down the UK plus radio play across the pond – follow up last year’s track ‘Tonight’ with this melancholic bop before the release of their debut EP ‘CLARITY’ this summer.

Running at over three minutes, ‘Too Much or Not Enough?’ is certainly in no rush. It’s measured, it’s moody and it’s irresistibly catchy.
Opening with a stab of guitars before a stomping drumbeat kicks in – the mood is set. And what a mood.
Lyrically pondering a heady mix of indecisiveness, creative potential and impulsivity (themes that are further explored in their forthcoming EP) – vocals are playfully delivered with both an indie swagger and more than just a little Kelly Jones flair that stands out in all the right ways.

Is it too much or not enough? / ‘Cause I don’t wanna wait anymore tonight”

There’s somewhat of a disco flavour to this one – a nostalgic mid-2010s danceability that feels sure to still fill many an indie dancefloor. Blending bluesy bass-lines, whirling synths and a sparkle of Blossoms-esque keys – ‘Too Much or Not Enough?’ hits that balance of indie rock and synth pop that you’ll find yourself humming along to long after the first listen.

Giving us another taste of what’s to come for the Cov quartet; this track is neither too much or not enough – I’d say it’s pretty spot on.
