WE REVIEW THE NEW SINGLE FROM COLD WATER SWIMMERS – ‘EVERYTHING WE’VE EVER HAD WE’VE HAD TO FIGHT FOR’

Manchester based, three-piece, Cold Water Swimmers present their final single in the build-up to their new album, exploring themes close to their heart such as the NHS, working rights and speech with proceeds of the release supporting two local charities to assist on the frontline.

Everything We’ve Ever Had We’ve Had to Fight For’ is masterfully written incorporating influences from across the alternative rock sphere to create a powerful, distinct sound.

Musically the track is backed by a charging rhythm and is chased by an ascending distorted progression which gives the track an addictively chaotic feeling. Synth embellishments add colour throughout and a mesmerising climax in the final third sees the track call upon elements of psychedelia and resulting in a huge conclusion to the track.

Front man Chris Bridgett’s delivery possesses great character and personality with this latest offering a demonstration of his brilliant dynamics bringing a punk-like energy throughout.

The single is anthemic and stadium-ready, brimming with confidence and not afraid to take risks Cold Water Swimmers show what their made of on ‘Everything We’ve Ever Had We’ve Had to Fight For’ and leaves me hoping for more of the same on their new project.
