CONCRETE CLUB

WE REVIEW THE NEW SINGLE FROM CONCRETE CLUB – PEOPLE LIKE US

Manchester 5-piece Concrete Club, musicians not builders, as they often like to joke, are gearing up for a very exciting 2026. Flagged for a showcase gig put on by the legend Clint Boon, supporting international Greek artist D3lta and of course their own hometown headliner at the historic Deaf Institute, Concrete Club aren’t messing about this year. And what a way to keep up momentum with their brilliant first single ‘People Like Us.’

This is a belter of a collaboration track. It immediately grabs you with grooving basslines that feel reminiscent of renowned Hacienda songs. The guitars layer over the basslines to create a huge sonic barrier that never drop in their energy. Frontman Jonny Brewster has such a distinctive voice that pairs beautifully with the iconic Rowetta’s powerful vocals. This collaboration is a match made in heaven with a simple but unforgettable chorus that sounds like it would be very exciting in a live setting.

From one of Manchester’s queens to a Manchester band building their momentum, ‘People Like Us’ is a statement. This is a well-rounded track that can seamlessly cut across genres, whilst being an indie anthem I see this track doing well in dance and house scenes too. What a start to 2026 for Concrete Club’s 2026 releases.
