Another strong track from the Spennymoor singer-songwriter here as he ups the tempo slightly, with toe-tapping results.
A brilliantly feel-good track which will force a happiness to pulse through you, Hi Hi Hello is both playful and perfectly precise. With a real rock n roll energy running through the track, Ashton again demonstrates those wonderfully motivational qualities which we are becoming so used to hearing from him.
With a unmistakable Brit-Pop nod at its core, this is a tune which is unashamedly British, borrowing from many influences to create one of those tracks that seemingly can’t come from anywhere but the North of England.
Once again in this track we are treated to the hypnotic melodies and catchy chorus to which we have become accustomed, taking the latter to new heights that will have you humming the beat to yourself all evening. The insanely catchy vocals almost brink on annoyingly memorable at points, but as usual he finds a wonderful balance stopping just short of feeling cheesy.
Inspired by becoming tongue-twisted when looking for the right words to woo that special someone, it really expresses beauty both in its sound and content. It’s a fun track, one which so finely crafted but manages not to lose any of the clear joyousness that has gone into making it.
Conrad Ashton seems to keep going from strength to strength with each track, never losing that passion for making music, and simultaneously honing in what makes his music so wonderfully memorable. Keep it up.
