WE REVIEW THE NEW SINGLE FROM CRUZ – HOLD ON

Sheffield based band CRUZ have released their new track Hold On. It’s an electrifying indie-rock track that carries a strong, touching statement that is swaddled up in a rock’n’roll energetic beat. The track has an important message with lyrics all about not giving up on certain relationships when they begin to become tough.

This will be their second single of the year quoting it as their ‘best work to date’ and with the emotional and raw vocals from Sam Thatcher, I can already see this song being a hit. It gives the song the perfect edge as you can tell this is something Sam has possibly gone through and all the emotions he felt came out during this track. I could hear and feel the pain within his voice when listening to this song and to me, these sorts of vocals make songs stand out more for people.

The instruments just compliment the emotions too, there’s a softness to them all and then it goes to full blown rage in the middle – accommodating to how holding on can really make you feel. One minute you’re okay with it, the next it’s driving you up the wall.

It’s definitely a track that you won’t be able to listen to once and forget. The energy in this song is like super glue, it will stick to you and will be hard to get rid of. It’s psychological impact makes you think about certain choices you have made in life too. It’s nice to hear in this song that others have experienced something similar to myself – and I am certain others will think this too.
