WE REVIEW THE NEW SINGLE FROM DANE KELLY – BOTTLE OF WINE
Just three months after the release of his uber successful single Lullaby Blue, Manchester singer-songwriter Dane Kelly is back with another deeply soulful number.
The track titled Bottle of Wine fuses classic rock ‘n’ roll with a modern twist both technically and thematically. A moody guitar line decorated in fiddly licks breathes life into the song, seemingly inspired by grassroots blues. The minor tonality inflicts feelings of contemplation and wonder upon listeners, to which Kelly provides clarity through his lyricism.
Kelly tells his story with thoughtfully crafted words reminiscent of old-time poetry. His vocal delivery is rich, while complimented with subtle harmonies in the chorus and slight reverberation throughout.
Quieter sections allow the thick and tuneful bass to shine through, resonating beneath the whole song once you get a taste. With accompaniment from its rhythmic counterpart of splashy drums, the instrumentation of this number truly cuts deep. Its introspective presence will in no doubt fill a room to create a crackling atmosphere.
Bottle of Wine is available of all streaming platforms from the 25th of August, and you can catch Dane Kelly in various shows around the U.K.
