We review the new single from Espen Wiken – Alright

This month has seen us become introduced to Espen Wiken, who has recently released his debut single, ‘Alright’, a dance-y, euro-pop influenced number which is destined to captivate the attention of listeners.

A summer banger, ‘Alright’ sees Espen Wiken provide listeners with a hypnotic glimpse into what’s to come. An easy to listen to, uplifting track, the single feels fit for beer garden days spent basking in the sun.

Produced and mastered by Espen Wiken himself, ‘Alright’ also features glorious backing vocals provided by Caitlin Jenkinson who adds another level of depth to the track. The production here is where the track really comes to life, taking listeners to another dimension where the sun is always beating down.

Since studying at BIMM in Manchester, Espen has pushed himself into Manchester’s music scene. Playing sets at the likes of Lions Den supporting Minerva Daisy, performing alongside bandmates in Letters To Frances and featuring on tracks of his friends, it feels as if Espen is truly unstoppable.

‘Alright’ allows Espen Wiken to propel himself into the limelight, sharing a feel good number which will find itself right at home on your summer playlists. A well produced, vocally strong debut that strays away from the norm, ‘Alright’ ticks all of our boxes whilst still leaving room for Espen’s talents to grow.
