WE REVIEW THE NEW SINGLE FROM FAT DADS – HONEY

Fat Dads’ new song, “Honey”, is a rock anthem that needs to be experienced through headphones for the full listening experience. I absolutely loved the beginning with the music starting on my right ear and slowly coming to my left. The band knows how to capture our attention and ears from the very beginning. This serves as the first example of their attention to detail and great collaboration with producer Alex Quinn.

Fat Dads is a 5-piece band from Carlisle featuring Tyee Wright on lead vocals, Steven Dixon on guitar and backing vocals, Michael Smith on guitar, Alex Whittaker on bass, and Andy Graham on drums. They take pride in their signature sound, a blend of early 00’s Garage/Indie scene, capturing the essence of the era while infusing contemporary energy. “Honey” is no exception and the band’s DIY sensibility is on full display with this new release.

While the beginning is captivating for its production effects, the song slowly becomes repetitive, only to surprise us again with powerful guitar solos. A true musical experience, “Honey” is both comforting and unexpected.

2023 marked a milestone for Fat Dads as they were recognized as one of the UK’s most exciting new bands by Indie tastemakers ‘This Feeling’ with their debut EP sold out within 48 hours, reaching fans across Europe and America.

If you’re into rock sounds and infectious indie tunes, Fat Dads is just the band you need. They are currently on tour all around the UK, so don’t miss the chance to experience their music live.
