If happiness was a song, then Florie Namir’s latest release ‘Piece of My Soul’ would be it. The London based singer/songwriter has captured the pure essence of joy within this track, and this is evident from the very first chord.
“She’s got a piece of my soul and I know I can make her stay” Florie sings, in the most effortless and elegant way. The undoubtedly vocal talent displayed within the first line of this song is the key source of the hypnotic magic displayed throughout. You are drawn in without a second thought, and before you know it the song has ended, and you left pressing play all over again.
Continuing with the magic, the instrumental is probably one of the purest things I have heard in a while. The jazz-infused melody is indulged with swooning saxophones which lift you onto your feet. Likewise, the chirpy piano keys narrate the tale in which the song carries. The tale of love.
Then you hear the occasional crash of the hi-chat chime which takes the song to the next level. Adding drama and enthesis to the wholesome feelings being expressed through Florie’s words.
Everything about ‘Piece of My Soul’ screams perfection and there is not a single thing I could fault about it. It’s jazzy’ it’s classy’ ad most importantly it’s loveable. Don’t believe me? Then you should listen for yourself.
