WE REVIEW THE NEW SINGLE FROM FRANKIE DOBSON – DEVIL MAN

British artist Frankie Dobson might only be a couple of years into his music journey, but “Devil Man” shows he already knows how to grab attention. Drawing inspiration from artists like Sam Fender, Louis Dunford and The Vaccines, Frankie is clearly tapping into that rich tradition of British indie rock that mixes honest storytelling with big, energetic guitars.

“Devil Man” doesn’t ease you in gently. It kicks the door open. The track starts hard and instantly pulls you in, especially with those “ouh ouh ouh” vocals layered with the instrumentation at the beginning. It’s one of those intros where you immediately know you’re in for something fun. Honestly, I found myself singing along with Frankie almost straight away.

Lyrically, there’s a tension running through the song that keeps things interesting. Lines like “The devil’s got a leash / You know it’s wrapped around my neck” hint at inner struggles and temptation, while the chorus pushes back against that idea with “I’m not the devil man”. It feels defiant, like someone trying to shake off expectations or labels that don’t belong to them.

Musically, the guitars really shine. The riffs during the hook hit hard and give the song a proper punch. Then, just when everything feels full throttle, the music briefly pulls back and lets Frankie’s voice soften. That moment of calm works really well because when the instruments kick back in, it feels even bigger.

There’s something very classic about the way the song is built. Big riffs, strong melodies and that sense of energy that makes you imagine it being played live.

If Frankie Dobson keeps bringing this kind of energy and catchiness into his music, it’s easy to see why people are starting to take notice.
