FRENCH DOGS

WE REVIEW THE NEW SINGLE FROM FRENCH DOGS – TUCKER’S HAVING A BABY

London’s French Dogs build up to the release of their debut LP with this new single, Tucker’s Having A Baby. Their first offering since last years self titled EP, it only heightens anticipation for the May release of their first album. Having really started to gain some traction with their high energy releases and performances, this feels like it could be the track which really hammers home their potential.

With their sounded rooted in a mixture of organised chaos in the instrumentals and raw storytelling int the vocals, it lends itself perfectly to fans of the mid ‘00s indie explosion. Carrying on exactly where they left of in 2025, they have once again managed to combine that rawness with growing matureness in their songwriting to create another indie banger.

Their ability as songwriters may sometimes be overlooked as it’s the rawness they possess which jumps to the surface. Make no mistake about it though, this is more than just a thrown together track with only its energetic rhythm carrying it. Through all of that swagger they pump into their sound, it is all underlined by a real ability, both musically and lyrically, to make tunes with a greater maturity than you might immediately realise.

While Tucker’s Having A Baby perhaps doesn’t differentiate itself from their previous tracks in terms of its style and composition, it does continue their exciting trend of seeming to get better with every release. With a huge 2026 ahead of them, they are definitely one to watch as their debut album rapidly approaches. Keep you eyes peeled for these boys, as they could be heading right to the top.
