GARFIELD MAYOR - BACK HERE AGAIN

WE REVIEW THE NEW SINGLE FROM GARFIELD MAYOR – BACK HERE AGAIN

Garfield Mayor’s new track Back Here Again is available to listen to now, and if I were you, I definitely would. You won’t be disappointed.

The opening of the song is somewhat orchestral, which gives it an epic feel. It really grabs you from the beginning note, even more so when there is a sudden cut out and we hear the vocals for the first time. They are quiet, muffled and distant, not what you expect following the opening, but again, this interesting mix gives the song something unique.

Drums lead us into another verse, beginning with the same line as the first: ‘I don’t like myself much these days.’ This time it sounds much more full and is more in keeping with the spirit of the instrumental opening. The track definitely fully comes alive at this point.

Back Here Again follows a pretty classic formula and takes on attributes from other similar artists within the genre, but there is a bit of an American twang to what could be otherwise described as quintessentially British pop rock. It’s nicely melodic, flows well and is heartfelt. It’s also incredibly easy to listen to and is radio friendly, making it playable everywhere. Overall, it’s an enjoyable listen with gorgeously clean vocals that accentuate every word.

After four minutes of this catchy tune, it builds up to the end and finishes with a fade out rather than an abrupt end. This is something that isn’t used much in music anymore, but works effectively in this instance. The drifting out of the lyrics leaves you wanting more as it slowly disappears, a great ending to a great song.
