Liverpool’s dynamic garage-rockers, Gondalas, return with their heaviest track to date. Their new single ‘I’ll Get Mine’ does not shy away from explorative rock, with its unique of influences.
The track opens with an ominous tone as electric guitars whirr before breaking into hard-hitting riffs. Harsh, raspy vocals add an awesome crunchiness that threads the track with a grounded sound.
But where the versatility comes into play is the reggae-inspired pre-choruses- can’t resist a dynamic rock song! This part reminds me of 90s rock band, Sublime. Alongside the catchy chorus line “I’ll get mine”, the song encapsulates both the frustrations and aspirations when things are working out for everyone around you.
The final rendition of the chorus leaves behind the brooding tone with a conclusive, happy energy. I can imagine a crowd slowing down for this part of the track to sing along before breaking back into a wild mosh-pit. Despite the harsher rock moments, this aptly names single to me, feels like an ultimate aspirational track that shakes you into a sense of hope. I’m super excited for this one to drop!
