We review the new single from HORLA – Sound of a Gun
A heartfelt rock anthem from an exciting band with a lot to offer, what more could you ask for?
With droning guitars and tortured vocals, Manchester band HORLA release their debut single ‘Sound of a Gun’ from their upcoming EP. Their emotional honesty courses through the song effortlessly, and has the potential to draw you into a trance through all three and a half minutes.
After years in the making, with the band forming in 2018, the band have finally reached the point of a release.
Whilst it’s been a long wait, you can definitely hear the amount of time and effort that has gone into the track. It has been carefully crafted and the production is of unquestionably high quality.
This refined sound means HORLA are ready and raring to already get on the big stage. They’ve got the planning for a ‘multi-sensory live show’ in place, so they really seem to be shooting for the stars.
However, though ambition is vital to getting where you want to be, I would encourage the band to stay grounded and continue to put in the hard work they have put in so far. They’ve got a lot of potential, and there is a lot of excitement for their work in the future. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see what their next move is.
