We review the new single from Jesse Grossi – My Demise
If this song was a person, it would refuse to be labelled. A track that resides in multiple genres and floats between different avenues of music unlike any other, ‘My Demise‘ is definitely a groove-infused contender that will leave your feet tapping no matter what music taste you have.
The latest offering from Jesse Grossi, a solo artist who is best described as a one-man band, the track was recorded in Jesse’s home studio, the vocals in Ferias Studios and further mixed and mastered by Andres Ferias.
Inspired by everyday life, personal events and just having a good time, ‘My Demise’ comes across as a feel-good number that could give any day a Friday Feeling. Based around a mellow ska-punk, reggae rock, indie arrangement, the track nudges artists such as Sublime, 311, Bob Marley and Green Day – a combination you wouldn’t think would be said in the same sentence.
Whilst the single speaks about everyday life, the track also has a subtle poignant side. About learning from mistakes and re-building yourself again, the hypnotising single is rather relatable.
A track you probably wouldn’t hear in the charts but in an underground bar where the crowd are having the best time imaginable, you can’t help loving ‘My Demise‘.
