Sunglasses is full of attitude, and quite honestly, relatability, because we’ve all just wanted to be left alone before. The explicit nature of the song just helps highlight the don’t care angle more and there’s just a really fun feel to the whole track as well.
You will bop your head to this regardless of whether you meant to or not because the electro beat and punchy pacing dares you to deny the enjoyable value of it. It feels like there is a bit of experimentation to the vocal effects that gives the track a ‘yeah whatever’ sound that is laced with good vibes.
And talking of vocals and being nonchalant, that’s exactly what goes on throughout the song. It almost makes it a bit punky but placed over a disco beat there’s a real blend of genres that works incredibly well.
There is a fairly long instrumental section to Sunglasses, which for quite an average length song is just one more interesting part of the track. It helps balance all the parts of the song and ensures you don’t get bored of any section. The structure of the song is quite simple but with all the nuances that have been mentioned, it’s brought to life and is made into a track that will have you feeling like you’re at a rave whenever you want.
