WE REVIEW THE NEW SINGLE FROM LOST LEGS

Manchester indie rockers Lost Legs return with their bullish new single, The King Of Broken Hearts.

A follow up to their debut EP release, 2023’s Last Laugh, this new track follows largely in the same vein. Built around infectious guitar riffs it has retained all the energy they introduced to us last year.

That refreshingly youthful exuberance is still present throughout, but it maintains that more serious side when it comes to the outstanding tightness in their sound.

Although following a similar pattern, it does excel past what we have heard from them previously. King Of Broken Hearts is definitely their most complete release so far. The way the track is put together just seems all together more mature than their previous releases.

It manages to bring together that raw energy that defined their previous EP with a really ‘floor-filler’ melodic chorus, making it much more instantly memorable.

Despite lyrically being about breaking someone’s heart, it is definitely another track which enjoyment has gone into. There’s self-belief in their sound, which is what you need if you’re going to stand out when trying to break through. It has all that typical Manchester swagger that you’d expect from four lads pumping out tunes like this when they are still just getting going, and I fully expect they will keep getting better from here on in.
