Since breaking onto the scene in 2018, with raucous single ‘DJ’ which achieved national television coverage, featuring on a Channel 4 advertisement, they have continued to make waves – even after a 4 year hiatus, Lost Trends never disappoint with their consistent sound.
The latest offering from Lost Trends ‘Takedown’ is infectiously intense, driven by vibrant electric guitars and punchy percussion.
Still staying true to the essence of their original sound, but with a newfound direction as they demonstrate they are more than just an indie band with a heavier, rock style but remain reminiscent of cited influences like Bloc Party. Lyrically, Takedown reflects on the struggles of mental health, constantly building in intensity before reaching the emotionally charged refrain from which the song derives its title.
Hailing from York, the band have played across the UK including the O2 Academy in Leeds and Dublin Castle in Camden. These new tracks, particularly ‘Takedown’ are destined to be truly appreciated while blaring out the speakers of a high-energy gig.
‘Takedown’ as well as their other latest single ‘Antelope’ have been released to critical acclaim, getting the four-piece well deserved air-time on BBC Introducing. With each new release, Lost Trends continue to cement their place within a busy scene, ‘Takedown’ is proof of their nature to continuously evolve, and impress.
