WE REVIEW THE NEW SINGLE FROM LOVELOST

South West quartet Lovelost are known for their nostalgic old-school emo music with a modern twist which allows them to carve a unique space within alternative rock music for themselves. Their nod to old-school emo is evident with their latest single, Pour The Salt In.

Like many songs that fall under the emo genre, the track overall takes us on a musical rollercoaster through dynamics, vocal delivery and instrumentation.

The vocals range from being staccato and distorted to being soft and full of lyricism. The dynamics start the track of loud and full before stripping down to the bare bones within seconds and then gradually building up its texture and volume throughout.

I thoroughly enjoyed the sound that the band have created behind Pour The Salt In and the time put in at the studio. This track is most certainly a must for avid alternative listeners and for fans of Linken Park, Sum 21 and Gaft Tape Sandy.
