Nonsense is the newest track from Luan Luan who provides Gwen Stefani vibes with their singing ability. It is a song perfect for anyone who is into their indie-pop and bluesy music and just loves a good dance!
The Brighton star, originally from Spain, incorporates Spanish in the intro to Nonsense as well as adding deep funky basslines that create such an infectious and cheerful sound. The song is truly a mix of everything, the saxophone within the song just sounds right for this composition adding a jazz vibe to it. It’s a song anyone can enjoy. I think Luan has worked really hard on this track to bring different vibes together and has done a wonderful job at it!
The song explores the theme of changing for the better with lyrics such as ‘changing through all the seasons, I couldn’t pretend/”you’re better now”, I’m on the side of the light’, emphasising Luan has moved on from dark times and is in a much better place. The positivity echoes throughout this song, which is a great way to connect with listeners.
I really enjoyed the occasional ‘da, di, da, da,da’s’ that Luan put into the track, I think this helped the composition to become more catchy, as it most definitely an earworm you will catch yourself singing, no matter where you are. While the lyrics are massively enthusiastic about change, potentially adding more nuanced or figurative vocabulary could refine the track’s emotional impact as the lyrics are often repeated in the song.
