So let’s get straight to the point. If you’re someone who loves a bit of pure indie pop then you need to stick ‘Hold Me’, the latest release from self proclaimed alt pop princess, Megan Wyn, on your summer 2025 playlist.
With ‘Hold Me’, Megans’ evolution from ‘another indie rock kid’ to serious mainstream pop nobility picks up pace at a staggering rate. Every aspect of the track, be it Megan’s performance, the pristine production, or the stunningly eloquent writing, is pinpoint perfect.
Of the track, Megan says “I wrote Hold Me a few years ago when a whirlwind romance ended with a bruised heart, as the guy I was madly in love with, was in fact in love with someone else. This song is about losing yourself to love & how love sometimes brings out the melancholy in us, but time & time again we always chose love. Whether that’s a new love or a love that we can’t let go of. I’ve not released anything in a while, so I’m very excited & pleased to share this song with you. My own little broken love song.”
Despite being so astonishingly young, Megan seems to have been around for ages, such is her presence and gravitas on the UK emerging music scene. Each release sees her creativity evolve, each gig boosts her confidence and persona, both on and off stage. To be all this, at this age, well, who knows what this girl can achieve?
Megan plays the alternative escape festival, Brighton this coming Friday the 16th May, Stocktons Munro Festival on the 7th June and is a guest of Alanis Morrissette at her massive Blackweir Fields gig in Cardiff on the 2nd July.
