WE REVIEW THE NEW SINGLE FROM ONE DIMENSIONAL CREATURES – PETER PAN

Manchester four piece One Dimensional Creatures have spent the best part of 2023 carving their identity as a band. They’ve been navigating the alternative world with grungy post-punk anthems, capturing attention from all over.

Despite their infancy, their growing discography has gained them a string of achievements from national radio plays to sold out shows. One Dimes’ popularity among fans is undeniable, and the only way is up with their latest single Peter Pan.

This heady guitar track plays on themes of classism, using the clever metaphor of J.M. Barrie’s Peter Pan to convey how individuals are born into the shadows of the wealthy, with no choice but to live that way. Its cynicism is inherently punk with unwavering lyrics to match. Vocalist Ste Wilson’s delivery is loaded with a rousing attitude as he sings “there’s no Peter Pan, and I’ll never learn to fly,” leaving listeners pondering their own existence in this questionable world.

Beneath the sneering topline is a bed of overdriven instrumentation; crunchy bass, scratching lead guitar, and ferocious drums. The ensemble packs a solid punch, erupting in angst and rage.

The band’s performance on this track is a testament to their talents as individual musicians, and strength as a group. If their future releases have anything on this new single, watching them climb in the world of rock is going to be a real treat.
