PAINT ME IN COLOUR

WE REVIEW THE NEW SINGLE FROM PAINT ME IN COLOUR – HAPPY

Liverpudlian outfit Paint Me In Colour return with their new single, Happy. Their first new music since 2024s Pick Me Up, this new track features their trademark vibrant guitar riffs accompanied by the ever on-the-mark vocals of Liv Springer to create an instantly memorable tune. Packing more of a punch than their previous releases, Happy adds some real pop-punk vibes, primarily via the vocals, to their established sound.

With this release they have bought together the infectious pop sound that they carry and combined it with a more combative overtone to produce a more unique sound than what we have seen from them previously. The energy packed into it has multiplied astronomically, whilst still keeping that glittery indie-pop base which has ran through all of their previous singles. Whether or not there was a conscious effort to aim for a bigger sound, they have certainly got that now.

The big powerful voice of Springer which really jumps out at you throughout remains their fiercest weapon, but with every element of their sound contributing, it definitely feels like their most complete track. They’re relatively pedestrian output of songs suggests they are really working to perfect their sound rather than just pumping out releases, and now they’re undeniably reaping the rewards of that attitude. They have continued to get better and better, and Happy sits atop at the pinnacle of their music so far.
