WE REVIEW THE NEW SINGLE FROM PSYDAA

Psydaa, the music moniker of Natalie Jane, emerges as a fresh and fun voice in the UK music scene. Growing up in Nelson, Lancashire, where superstition was commonplace against a backdrop of Pendle Hill and a local heritage of witchcraft, it inspired her musical universe.

Psydaa usually infuses her music with influences ranging from pop-punk to classic pop anthems. Her latest release, “Heart A Whole Lotta Thing”, is a total game changer as she ventures into pop, rock, and soul realms. The song even opens with an experimental, jazzy instrumental that sets a captivating tone from the outset. Then layers of keys, organ, and electric guitar are added to the mix for an impressive result.

Lyrically, “Heard A Whole Lotta Things” explores themes of trust and deception in relationships, especially the aftermath of believing negative stories about others. Psydaa portrays the feelings of guilt and confusion that come with discovering conflicting truths. She navigates the hope that the negative rumors about her partner turn out to be untrue. However, we all know they are not as everyone probably experienced that at least once in our life.

One of the standout elements of the song is the chorus. Indeed, the instrumentation cleverly pauses during the chorus, allowing Psydaa’s voice to shine brightly while she sings the essence of the song “I’ve heard a lotta things about you“.

Surely Psydaa strikes a chord with her introspective lyrics and intricate melodies.
