WE REVIEW THE NEW SINGLE FROM RAGE UNFOLD – OMEN

Working as a virtual band since 2022, Rage Unfold find themselves split accross three countries and their latest intercontinental brainwave comes in the form of ‘Omen’, their first release of 2026.

With Bozhidar Popov (Bulgaria) covering performance and production, Siggi Schuessler (Germany) on vocals and Marie-Louise Anastas (Australia) penning the lyrics, the dynamic of Rage Unfold is something quite unique. Their music, on the other hand, is much simpler to grasp. Hard hitting, heavy instrumentals and equally angry vocals.

A song with a violent sound, ‘Omen’ introduces itself with ramped up distortion, combining rhythmic guitar chugging and an awfully impressive scream before exploding into the main body.

Harmonised high / low vocals take the centre stage, creating an almost System of A Down-like sound in an equally whacky fashion, though it doesn’t take long for extreme distortion to re-join the party and turn your flesh into metal.

Instrumentally, there’s nothing spectacular within the first half of the track. However, the vocal range on show is out of this world and combined with the ridiculousness of the concept, ‘Omen’ is carried through to it’s latter stages, where Bozhidar open fire on the fretboard, shredding all types of nonsense, leading directly into a cult-like chant of the song’s title and coming to an abrupt end not long there after.

Equally impressive as it is bonkers. It’s sonically strange but in an inviting way. See for yourself, it’s one hell of a ride.
