Are you getting bored of having nothing new to listen to, playing the same old songs in your playlist and thinking ‘gosh, I really wish I could find a new band to listen to’? Well, you’re in for a treat! Scouse band RATS have just released a belter of a tune, mixing indie basslines and punk lyrics into a Gorillaz-esque track, this song will leave you wanting more from these guys!
The band highlight modern day issues and put them into songs, making their music extremely hard-hitting, truthful and relatable to any of their fans or even new listeners. Not only is it the lyrics that stand out with RATS, their instrumentals are a big part of what makes them different from other bands. They don’t just stick to one genre, they are a very experimental band with some songs being more mellow than others, gaining them fans of all kinds of genres.
Hard To Find reminds me a lot of The Specials, The Skints, Madness, and all of those two-tone/SKA bands as this song has that rocksteady beat that can make anyone get up and start skanking, along with the punky lyricism of Joe Maddocks, it’s like listening to an 70s punk band with the same energy as Eminem. I extremely like how they’ve put a modern twist on SKA and made it their own, it is going to be a hit you will listen to on repeat (just ensure you can skank to it each time).
RATS are soon to be touring around the UK in April kicking off in Stockton-on-Tees and ending in Liverpool. This is going to be a phenomenal tour, so get your hands on some tickets before they sell out!
