ANDERSON REID

WE REVIEW THE NEW SINGLE FROM REID ANDERSON

“My Dearest Friends” is the latest track from Reid Anderson, hailing from Liverpool.

The beginning is soft, and gentle and then the vocals kick in, with a folk-pop style that the Beatles and Lumineers would be proud of.

The more the song got into it, it reminded me of the likes of “Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds” by local legends The Beatles, but when you’re from Liverpool, why wouldn’t you take inspiration?

What Reid Anderson has done has crafted a track that steps up from your average acoustic track, it brings emotion with the lyrics and gives a fantastic range of fun, emotional, and also uplifting all in one song. Why is it so short? I feel like this lets it down slightly, I could have easily listened to another minute and a half of this, I was really enjoying it and it’s a very relaxing listen.

This would go perfectly with the montages you see on your favourite Netflix shows, where two people meet and grow with one another, it’s just bloody lovely.

The guitar on it is stunning and really brings it up to that next level and I can only imagine it is lovely live too. Whilst the track is too short, it did lead me onto Reid’s other tracks and the soft, slow, sometimes deep style really, really suits the style of music, emotional, raw, and gentle.

“My Dearest Friends” made me reminisce of times with my friends and made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside, it was lovely and a voice I intend to follow from here onwards.

The artwork is simple but great, like the front of a menu at your favourite restaurant, possibly meeting with said friends, something that reminds me of some of my best times. A truly beautiful track, one I urge you to listen to as soon as possible.
